Hi-Desert Medical Center Volunteers Help the Way Station Give out Thanksgiving Food Boxes and Turkeys

JOSHUA TREE, Calif. – November 20, 2018 – Staff members of the Hi-Desert Medical Center volunteered their time today at The Way Station, providing the local Joshua Tree community with free food boxes, including fresh vegetables, stuffing, canned goods, and turkeys, to ensure as many people as possible could have a nice Thanksgiving meal.
“Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful, and we’re thankful for these people. That’s why we do what we do,” said Pastor Dennis Potter of The Way Station. “It’s great to be able to bless people with a lot of good food and a wonderful day.”
“Hi-Desert Medical Center is proud to be a part of this community,” said Karen Faulis, CEO of Hi-Desert Medical Center. “It’s our sincere pleasure to give our time to the kind people at The Way Station, who are doing great work to see that all members of our community have a nice meal on Thanksgiving.”
The Way Station estimates that more than 460 turkeys were distributed today along with full food boxes that will serve more than 2,000 members of the community.
