Hi-Desert Medical Center Invites Local Businesses to Join In Their 2016 Healthy Over Hungry Morongo Basin Cereal Drive
May 17, 2016Joshua Tree, CA—Let’s get serious about cereal! Hi-Desert Medical Center (HDMC) has partnered with leading sponsors KiX Hot Country 96.3FM, Hi-Desert Publishing Co., and Z107.7 Community Radio to rally the community to support The Way Station food bank of Joshua Tree and FIND food bank of Indio to present the 2016 Healthy Over Hungry Morongo Basin Cereal Drive. HDMC invites local businesses to join in a healthy cereal drive competition during their 2016 Healthy Over Hungry Morongo Basin Cereal Drive from June 3-10.
HDMC recognizes that summer is a particularly hard time for those struggling with hunger. Children can no longer rely on their school for nutritious meals and the level of donations to food banks are historically lower during this time each year. By participating in this drive, you will be helping to feed those who are directly impacted by this need and for this we are truly grateful.
HDMC will provide cereal drive kits beginning Friday, May 27, complete with posters, flyers, and donation bins designed with cereal drive information for customers and employees. Local businesses will have until Friday, June 10 to collect as many boxes of cereal and monetary donations as possible. Pick up and drop off of donations will be coordinated to provide cereal box donations to The Way Station food bank in Joshua Tree and monetary donations to FIND food bank of Indio. All participating local businesses will receive mention in radio and newspaper ads in addition to social media coverage during June 3-10 as our thank you for their partnership to feed our community. Please call the HDMC Marketing Office before May 31st at (760) 366-6322 to register your business for this worthy cause!
All participating local businesses will be entered to win the 2016 Healthy Over Hungry Morongo Basin Cereal Drive trophy and free advertising packages donated by our leading sponsors KiX Hot Country 96.3FM, Hi-Desert Publishing Co., and Z107.7 Community Radio with a combined value of over $1,500.
HDMC will invite the winning local businesses’ leadership and their employees to the HDMC Independence Day barbecue held at Helen Gray Education Center on Thursday, June 30. HDMC leadership will then present the winning local business with their well-deserved trophy and recognize their support and donations as the winner of the 2016 Healthy Over Hungry Morongo Basin Cereal Drive.
All monetary donations will be raised for the FIND Food Bank in Indio, CA who partner with The Way Station local food bank to provide food to our community. All monetary donations are tax deductible. Please visit www.findfoodbank.org online or text ‘FIND’ to 20222 on your mobile device to donate. If participating businesses choose to make monetary donations to FIND food bank, the equivalent cereal serving total will be added towards their final donation results.
